About “Fundamentals of Visual Litercy” + Schedule
Provides a examination of the different elements of visual design, as well as a general overview of the web site design process. Topics to be covered include but are not limited to: design elements, color theory, graphics creation & optimization, stylesheets, and multimedia.

Week 1: Chapter 1: Introduction to the nature of the web & new media
Week 2: Chapter 2: In-depth examination of the design process for a web project
Week 3: Chapters 3 and 4: Use of space and line as elements of design
Week 4: Chapters 5 and 6: Use of shape and value as elements of design
Week 5: Chapter 7: Use of texture as an element of design
Week 6: Chapters 8 and 9: Use of color as an element of design
Week 7: Mid-term project
Week 8: Chapter 10: Composition, layout, and unity
Week 9: Chapter 11: Use of balance as an element of design
Week 10: Chapters 12 and 13: Use of perspective and repetition as elements of design
Week 11: Chapters 14 and 15: Use of association and abstraction as elements of design
Week 12: Chapters 16 and 17: Use of style and emphasis as elements of design
